Holiday Big Mistake

Last year I made a BIG mistake

Shopping for our trip to stay with the old dears in Spain, I needed more cleanser. I couldn’t find my usual one, so I opted for one from the same brand but – I didn’t read the bottle.

An adorable baby panda who has NOT been on the razzle the night before!Unlike my usual overall cleanser, this one did not remove my eye make-up, and I was reduced to scrubbing madly at my dark eye pencil and even darker mascara until I looked like a red-eyed panda who’d been out on the razzle the night before!

The next morning was spent in a fruitless search to find a remove-everything-in-sight cleanser, and I ended up having to buy an eye make-up remover product that I utterly hated using. What a waste of energy, having to use two products instead of one.

Moral of the story: never take new untried products on holiday.

A British plug is not the same shape as those in Spain! The previous year, Neil and I learnt another valuable lesson when travelling abroad. One electrical adapter between us is NOT enough.

How many appliances will you need to have plugged in all at the same time?

  • Overnight, we need both mobile phones on charge
  • Every morning and evening I religiously use an electric toothbrush – that also needs charging overnight
  • And when I titivate my barnet, it’s a right pain in the proverbial having to unplug the hairdryer just so I can plug in my hot brush (you can tell from this that I have the patience of a gnat)

For smooth operations first thing in the morning and last thing at night, without me having a dicky fit, two adapters would seem to be the absolute minimum, with a third making Neil’s life so much less stressful…
