Complete strangers commented on my outfits

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011 by Kim Bolsover

Sue Clayton lives in Devon, UK. She successfully completed my Colour Analysis in a Box training course and emailed:

“Hello Kim It is now nearly two years since I did my colour training with you.

In that time I have run one-to-one sessions and tonal taster sessions and done a few shopping trips (which I had not initially intended to do but felt the need to go with the flow).

I have worked collaboratively with a lady who runs a slimming club and have run clothing swaps with her ladies. My full-time job is still in the balance due to government cutbacks in education but I am still employed. This has meant that I have taken the decision not to expand my colour business too much at the moment.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the work I have done and my confidence has grown

When I initially did the training and heard you speak about your own colour choices I had to agree with you that it did sound a little radical, but I am finding my own capsule wardrobe comprises brown, cream and camel neutrals with corals, salmon and purple and variations on a theme.

My personal confidence has grown and on more than one occasion complete strangers have commented on my outfits!

I love to play a game with myself and see how many combinations I can make from one basic outfit – a suit worn as is, jacket and skirt worn with other separates, and mixing and matching jumper, T-shirts, etc.

Packing for holidays is so much easer and I’m a more discerning shopper, I can walk into a shop, scan and decide if there is anything worth further investigation.

Thank you for your wonderful course. Regards, Sue.

Do you want to double your business?

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011 by Kim Bolsover

“Kim, Thanks for including my article in your weekly blog – it looks great!

By the way, I’ve been watching the tips on Dragons’ Den – and Duncan Bannatyne went through with a lady how to be / what to say on the phone when promoting a business.

I thought, ‘That’s just what Kim said on the Advanced Colour Analysis course when approaching local hairdressers – offering them the opportunity to double their business.”

So – no beating around the bush – but getting straight to the point of what a brilliant opportunity I’m offering them.   This doesn’t come naturally within my personality but I’m going to practise and practise (taking on some Spring-like characteristics to help me along perhaps),  and my next step is to contact independent hairdressers in East Devon until I find a couple that take the opportunity!

Onwards and upwards.

Kind regards,
Angela Garner
