I start out by just wanting to help and before I know it…

Thursday, March 17th, 2011 by Kim Bolsover

The things I sign up for! Sometimes I think I must be completely daft. I start out by just wanting to help and then, before I’ve had time to think it through, I open my mouth and out comes, “Yes, I’ll do that!”

Dupion Silk Vintage Roses This time I’ve signed up to be a guinea pig for a workshop at Mrs Mac’s Emporium which apparently includes me making a Dupion silk vintage rose corsage. I don’t even know what one of those is, never mind how to make it!

Let’s face it – I’d rather shell out for a replacement shirt / coat / jacket than have to sew a single button on… but it’s too late now.

Mrs Mac says, “Don’t panic – you’ll only have to cope with threading a needle (which I will definitely help with) and running stitch – all the rest is cutting, twisting wire and gluing – and some fun with hot petal forming tools!” Eeek!

Mrs Mac sounds so calm about it all. I’m beginning to think I might have to run off to Spain and pick oranges next Monday…

Oh, all right then… I’ll take some photos and will let you know how it goes though I’ve already warned Mrs Mac that I’m taking a large packet of plasters with me!

Well, must fly. I’m off up the M1 today to my monthly mastermind meeting in Leeds.

This month we’re taking Ethelburga’s business to bits and re-building it from scratch to see where we can get rid, make improvements, and make lots of money for her.  I can’t wait to get stuck in!

Do you know that I have been offered loads of pennies to work on a date this year that would mean I would have to miss one of the my mastermind meetings? And I turned it down. I couldn’t possibly do without my monthly fix.

I wouldn’t know where to begin to put a price on all their help and support. It’s fantastic and a real privilege to have objective insights from such generous business-minded people who have nothing to gain from Neil and I doing well except, of course, my admiration, my respect and my eternal gratitude.

It’s been emotional!

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010 by Kim Bolsover

My trip to Ireland was so life changing that I’m still working through it. As Vinnie Jones says in ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’, “It’s been emotional!”

I went with specific questions about the way forward for our business and came back having made some very specific decisions. It’s not quite what I had expected but it’s pretty darned good and very, very exciting. I’ll tell you more as it all begins to unfold.

3 Steps to Success

We’re sending the master discs of ’3 Steps to Success for Image Professionals’ to our distribution company this week.

Once they’ve done their stuff, they’ll let us know when they’re ready to ship and then the price goes back up to £497 so if you’ve been wanting to find out how to turn your colour and style business around and really start making a profit from all that time and money you’ve invested in your training, props, advertising, etc., then pre-order your own copy right now.

You can still save GBP 100 for just a few days more, and you can pay over 2 months

Christmas is coming

Christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year and it’s only 25 sleeps away!

We watched ‘Muppet Christmas Carol’ last night with Michael Caine so we’re now definitely in the festive mood.

Don’t forget to order wallets, drapes, etc. in good time for any consultations or workshops that you’ve got booked over the holiday period. I’ve asked the warehouse staff today for their Christmas opening hours and last despatch dates so I’ll send you an update very soon.

Remember, lots of ladies get very fed up running around after everyone else, and will be queuing at your door if you offer them some ‘me’ time. When I used to run them, my workshops for the week between Christmas and New Year were always full up and had waiting lists…
